Compassionate Therapy for Adults Navigating Life’s Most Difficult Seasons

Life has a way of catching us off guard. One moment, you’re managing fine—and the next, you’re overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by depression, or trying to hold everything together while navigating illness, caregiving, or painful life transitions.

If you're feeling lost, emotionally exhausted, or like you're constantly putting everyone else's needs before your own, you’re not alone. And you don’t have to face it alone.

I work with adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, chronic illness, life transitions, and caregiver stress.

Whether you're adjusting to a major change, dealing with a health diagnosis, or simply feeling like you’ve lost sight of who you are, therapy can help you reconnect—with your strength, your values, and your sense of self.

This Is a Safe Space to Be Human

I know how hard it can be to ask for help—especially when you're used to being the one others rely on. That’s why I create a space where you can let down the mask and talk honestly about what you’re going through. My clients describe our sessions as warm, grounding, and even occasionally filled with laughter—because sometimes humor is a key part of healing.

Whether you're feeling emotionally drained, disconnected, constantly worried, or just not like yourself, I’m here to listen without judgment and walk beside you through it.

Tienes que bajar por el tobogán”.

My Specialties Include:

  • Depression – When everything feels heavy and joy seems out of reach

  • Anxiety – The racing thoughts, the “what-ifs,” the constant pressure to do more

  • Trauma – Big or small, past experiences can shape how we move through the world

  • Life Transitions – Retirement, divorce, job loss, grief, empty nesting—change is hard

  • Chronic Illness Support – Living with a diagnosis changes everything, and it’s okay to grieve that

  • Adult Caregiver Support – When you’re caring for others and forgetting how to care for yourself

My Approach to Therapy

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. You are unique, and your therapy should be too. I use a strengths-based approach to help you tap into your resilience, uncover new tools, and make meaningful, sustainable changes.

Some of the techniques I draw from include:

Together, we’ll figure out what works for you. You set the pace. I’ll meet you there—with empathy, practical strategies, and a genuine commitment to your growth.

You might be feeling lost, burned out, or disconnected from who you used to be. Therapy is a place to come back to yourself—and I’m here to help you get there.

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience, having earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002. My clinical work has focused on supporting adults dealing with mental health challenges related to trauma, chronic illness, caregiving, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions.

Credentials and Experience
Beyond the Therapy Room

When I’m not working with clients, you can find me in the garden, in the kitchen, or in the company of my beloved pets. I love flower and vegetable gardening and cooking creative dishes from what I grow. I’m also passionate about stained glass and antique rug hooking—there’s something deeply healing about turning broken or overlooked pieces into something vibrant and beautiful.

And yes, I’m proudly both a cat and dog person—currently loving life with one cat and four rescued pups. Caring for mistreated animals has taught me even more about compassion, patience, and the power of second chances.

Let’s Start Your Healing Journey

If you’re feeling like life is too much, or if you’ve been putting yourself last for too long, it’s time to prioritize you. Therapy can be the space where you catch your breath, process your pain, and rediscover your strength.

You deserve peace. You deserve support. You deserve to feel like yourself again.

Let’s talk. Reach out today to schedule a free consultation.
