Being a human being in a complex world isn’t easy, and yet the way we each find our way is beautifully unique. As a therapist, I want to help you understand your own story and find healing, meaning, and purpose. I focus on creating a safe and accepting space for clients to explore and understand their problems. I use Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as mindfulness, acceptance, DBT, and EMDR strategies to empower clients to manage their pain, heal from trauma, tell more helpful stories about their lives, and move forward.
Being EMDR trained has helped me see connections between clients’ pasts and their present, and to incorporate these insights into my work as a therapist. I love working with clients to understand the way memory networks and past survival behaviors shape their lives and using this powerful tool to help them find peace and healing.
I’m also a practitioner of climate-aware therapy, which means that I start with the assumption that feelings of anxiety, grief, anger and distress about the climate crisis are a reasonable reaction to the crisis humanity faces. I work to provide a validating space for clients to discuss these fears and concerns and to help them find ways to live meaningfully and embrace joy in an imperfect world. These approaches can also be applied to other sources of overwhelming emotions we encounter in our lives today
Therapy is a collaboration between me and the client, and I adapt my approach to fit the client’s priorities and preferences. I want to help clients embrace the complexity and range of their lived experiences. I believe that there is no one right answer to the problem of being human and that my role as a therapist is to help you find your best answers.
I am experienced in treating depression, anxiety, climate distress, PTSD and other effects of trauma, in helping people to cope with life changes and loss, and a range of other mental health concerns.

“In the depths of winter I at last discovered
that there was in me an invincible summer.”
— Albert Camus
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. I received my MA in Clinical Psychology from Eastern Illinois University.
Prior to working at Bodhi, I spent three years working in a community mental health, where I gained experience working with many different mental health concerns and learned to be adaptable and humble in my work with clients. I have also worked in substance abuse assessment and treatment, and, prior to my training as a therapist, I worked as an editor, arts educator, and community organizer.
In my spare time, I write poetry and non-fiction and enjoy cooking, reading, hiking, and being outdoors.
